After less than one year approximately 25 600 seedlings have been planted. The work was done by National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW),  National Union of Eritrean Youth (NUEY) and National Federation of Eritrean Workers  (NFEW) on a total of 12,9 hectare. Eight different kinds of trees are being planted, although the eucralyptus appeared to be the most popular.

The Goal of the Programme is to contribute to improve national food security through continuous public awareness on soil and water conservation and sustainable use of natural resources and mitigate the effect of land degradation.
