All our agreement-partners were represented (UNRCo, UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA, UNAIDS, ICRC, NCA, LWF, National Statistics Office and Ministry of Agriculture), in addition to other partners (National Union of Eritrean Youth and students, National Union of Eritrean Women and the European Union).
The team from Norad engaged very constructively, and also challenged by asking “Will men loose if women are empowered?”. By this, they put emphasis on how implementation of projects must be coherent with the Norwegian policy and action plan on Women rights and gender equality. Also, it reminded us and our partners to put on “Gender lenses”, which in turn should help achieving the goals of empowerment and equality.
